We assisted Darlington School in the initial land use acquisition and master planning for this new Middle School. It was determined, through a detailed life/ cost analysis, that the existing facility would not meet the owner’s long term programmatic needs and the maintenance and operating costs would not meet the efficiency levels expected of the program. We were challenged to develop a new 65,000 sf facility which reflected the historic English Gothic style of the campus while achieving a LEED “Gold” rating.
